The FCC certified CaptionMate in June 2020, which means that CaptionMate is financed by a fund administered by the FCC. The product is only available to people with hearing loss. You can self-certify your hearing loss, which means you don’t need a new appointment with your audiologist.

CaptionMate works on Android, iOS and Web devices. You can use your landline, flip phone or smartphone to make and receive calls, while watching captions on any smart device, including your iPad, computer screen, smartphone, etc.

CaptionMate uses Automated Speech Recognition (ASR), which means that there is NO Captioning Assistant or transcriptionist in the middle of your calls.
